Lawn LegendGrass Cutting

Cozy grass cutting game: whack weeds, grow your yard, upgrade to a lawn mower

You step off the back porch with a stick and drag your thumb across an overgrown yard. Grass is cut in neat rows, weeds pop into coins, and there is no game over. Spend the coins on tools you can see in your hand, from a cricket bat to a string trimmer, then buy the gate and push the fence out into wilder ground, where a boss weed waits.

About Lawn Legend

Lawn Legend is a cozy grass cutting game for one thumb, where you mow the lawn of an overgrown back yard and grow it into something wild.

Step off the back porch with a stick, drag your thumb across the yard, and every patch of long grass you walk through gets cut in neat rows. Tufts of weeds shrink with each hit, then pop in a burst of clippings and drop coins that fly straight to you. Nothing to lose and no game over: just cut grass, whack weeds and take the yard back, one satisfying row at a time.

You swing on your own whenever something is in reach, so all you do is steer. Mow in a straight line to build a row, and a long row pays up to double, with mowing stripes along every row you leave behind.

What you do

From a stick to a grass cutter

Every upgrade changes something in the yard, never a hidden percentage. Trade the stick for a cricket bat, a sickle, a machete, a scythe and a string trimmer, the grass cutter that clears the most. Each one cuts every kind of tuft in fewer hits and a wider stretch of lawn. The shed also sells boots, overalls, a sprinkler and a rake that pulls coins in from further off. Every card says what it costs and how many more coins you need, so you always know how soon you can afford the next thing.

A lawn mower game too

Save up and Mr. Alder's push mower is yours, laying down perfect stripes as you push it along. Later a rusted robot mower buried under the brambles wakes up and mows its own lanes beside you. If you came looking for a lawn mower game, this is the long, happy way there.

Grips for your handle

Grips wound on the handle, from Garden tape to Copper wire, are earned by felling bosses and having great days of mowing, never bought, and each one changes how you swing.

Days, nights and skills

A day runs from a peach dawn through a long golden hour to a rose sunset and fireflies at dusk. When the porch light comes on, you head to bed with nothing lost, or walk up the back steps early once the lawn is cut. At night everything you cut counts as XP, and every level is a pick of three skills, from a quicker, wider swing to the Spin that clears a whole circle round you. The grass grows back overnight, so tomorrow there is a fresh lawn to mow.

Odd days

Some mornings are different: a gold rush lawn, weeds that hop away, grass that grows back behind you, waist high grass, coins that fly far from every pop, or a day where every swing is a spin.

Grow the yard

Past each gate the yard gets wilder: long grass, dandelions, thistles and brambles, each tougher and worth more. Watch for pests: a charging chafer beetle, a snapper bud in the weed beds and a gopher that runs off with your coins. Every part of the yard has a boss, and something lost long ago lying where it stood.

Four heroes

Start as a grumpy garden gnome with a tall red hat and a white beard. Each boss you fell brings a new hero to the shed: a mole digger in a hard hat, a hedgehog groundskeeper in yellow wellies and a lanky scarecrow in a straw hat. The gnome earns a little more from every cut, the mole pulls coins in from further off, the hedgehog is the quickest on his feet and the scarecrow reaches furthest with every swing.

Play your way

If you like a calm grass cutting game, a grass cutter you can upgrade, a lawn mower game with a story of its own, or garden games where your yard keeps growing, grab a stick and start mowing.
