About Load Bearing
Load Bearing is a wrecking ball game on an open street: run a crawler crane, swing the ball with your thumb and bring each building down exactly where you choose.
This demolition game is about one question: which column holds the building up? Cut the right ones and the floors drop straight down into their own lot. Cut the wrong ones and the building leans onto the houses next door, or onto your own crane. It is a destruction game where aiming matters more than speed.
Your first minute
You start in the yard with a small crane in front of a garage. Slide your thumb to turn the crane while the ball hangs locked at the jib. Lift your finger and the ball flies out, smashes through the wall and comes home by itself to lock again. Turn, let go, watch the ball hit, repeat. Within a minute you are choosing which column to take first, and that choice is the whole game.
How a building falls
Every building stands on a grid of columns, and what is left standing decides how it comes down.
- Take the middle columns and the floors pancake straight down into the lot.
- Break the front and it leans forward, toward your crane. Cut one side and it leans that way.
- Cracked columns give way easily. Steel piers shrug off a weak swing and carry a lot of the weight.
- Walls, glass and frames are solid pieces with real weight, so a weak swing scuffs the concrete and a strong one brings a whole floor down.
A ball that behaves like a ball
In this wrecking ball game the ball hangs on a steel cable and swings under real gravity, so a longer arc hits harder and a short one only taps. Learn how the ball travels, pick the column you want, and line up the swing before you let go. Rushing the next throw can lift the crane's tracks, so patience is part of the craft.
The job
- Bring each building down inside its own lot, clear of the neighbors and clear of your crane.
- Beat the swing count the client allows and earn up to three stars.
- Tall offices, brick shops, houses and rail yard buildings each stand differently, so no two jobs are the same plan.
- Race the rival crew, Brannock Demolition, parked on the lot next door.
- Work through five districts of jobs, from Old Mill Row to the Docks and up to the Tower.
Build your machine
- Find parts in the rubble and spend your salvage in the yard on a heavier ball, a counterweight, a winch motor and a longer jib.
- Finish challenges such as breaking 25 pillars or bringing one down with a chain of five for top upgrades that are never sold.
- Keep a ledger of every building you have brought down.
Built for a phone
- One thumb is all it takes. No buttons to hunt for and no menus in the middle of a swing.
- A real 3D street with a camera that follows the fall, dust and flying chunks, and a sun and sky over every street.
- Pick the detail level that suits your phone.
If you want a demolition game where you plan the fall, swing once and watch the load come down, pick up the crane and start with the garage.
